Selling a UK registered Corvette in Malaysia...

Hi folks,

I've spent the past 4-and-a-bit months driving a Chevrolet Corvette from the UK to SE Asia (story here: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI... Well, as I near Singapore I appear to be running out of land, so my thoughts are seriously turning to selling said UK-registered car.

Does anyone here have any leads for classic or sports car dealerships/restoration houses which may be interested in buying and importing a cheap Corvette permanently to Malaysia? I'm currently in Georgetown and will be working my way down tho Singapore via KL over the next few weeks. I know the import duties will be high, but hopefully it's still worth asking the question...

PS- on a completely different note, does anyone know where the Malaysian TVR factory was located? Is there anything left of their Chimaera days, and if so, is it possible to visit?!

There are a few classic dealers, jags, on damansara, he is ok but looks for good margins, I bought my Porsche from him, and Robert at randjclassiccars sungai boloh, Roberts is great but tends to buy and sell on commissions, the problem is the AP approval permit you need to import the car, not easy to get. It is not just pay the duty.
Alternative is to sell for spares, I know a few people with corvettes who may make a low offer as a spare car, or to sell as a track only. What engine is it, there are a few V8s in the Asian classic car challenge, give me a pm and I will arrange a meet with Robert and a few classic car racers if you are in kl on 30th august we can go to the track and meet a few people at the next race weekend

I'm only in KL for another few days I'm afraid, so won't be around at the end of August - hoping to be back in the UK by then. If the car doesn't sell I guess I'll be shipping it home from Singapore...
