Mates, I come here a lot, but out here for two weeks now. 9-5 at clients site. Bored on downtime. Done all the BQ, CQ, Lau Pau Sat, Little India, Sim Lim, Marina Bay, Altitute, Chijmes, Orchard, KPO, Sentosa, Luge, etc many times before. What's a boy to do ? (needs to be legal, and something that my wife wouldn't object to (she's not here, but walls have ears and that's not my style, never having cost me more than a meal for two previously, etc..)).

Any suggestions gratefully received.....

No suggestions, but I agree with you, I find nearly all the big cities in Asia boring, they are based on shopping, no history, people don't believe me when I say 3 days in KL is more than enough, can you get to Tiomon island for the weekend? The theater on the bay has some thing on this weekend I know they sent me an email.

Golf/Driving range
Go-karting (new track just opened near the airport)
Cinema
Drive into Malaysia
Dirt biking (in the jungle) in Malaysia
Get a flight out somewhere (Thailand/Indo/Vietnam/Cambodia)
Fitness - Running/Cycling (hire a bike down the East Coast)

Just a few random ideas

plenty of museums to have a look at,

Zoo / Night Safari

Dempsey hill / Holland V / Bukit Tima for alternative boozing areas

Join one of the local Hash House Harrier events (think one every night of the week, just google for them)

As Berw says, most asian cities are actually quite boring on your own!

if you have any time off during the day / weekend :

Mac Ritchie reservoir - good walks in the park / jungle

Hike over Mt Fraser to Henderson wave bridge and then Kent Ridge

Blowfish bar on a Sunday afternoon

Sentosa

boat trip over to Pulau Ubin [natural-state jungly island] - then hike or bike .. or just have some beer and food.

day out scuba diving to Pulau Hantu

Museums and art galleries

rock climbing walls/ gyms

East coast park / beach and waterskiing lagoon

And for evening socializing you could join 'Internations' ... loads of social activities /meet ups for expats from 20 people to 500 people gatherings.

There are also plenty of pubs with pub quiz events

Thanks for all the replies and tips. Just after posting, it became busy with over running meetings late nights and worked over the weekend.

V41ley; thanks for the offer, I saw your post after the next night.
Rich_AR; we're all going karting next week !
XJS John; never heard of the HHH, just started running again, so will be there one night next week ! Also plan to take a spin out to Dempsy Hill and the other places you suggest.
Alfaman; Never heard of Internations too. Will give them a lookup..

Looks like there's a bit to do around the East Coast, will have a look whilst I'm at the karting..

Many thanks all..
