Sounds like complete bullsh*t to me, they were only ever made in Blackpool apart from a handful of the last TVRs put together somewhere else in the UK using LS3s

Made in Shah Alam I visited the factory, suggest you ar less certain when commentng on thins that are ouside your knowledge. I saw them being made, and also that is why they are so cheap they are classed as a Malaysian car.

Here is right, quite a run was done in Malaysia and sold,to Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Good mate of mine was the service agent for them,(along with a bunch of wedges that were imported from blackpool, and some other odd hardware.

nice to know that that there is still, some,TVR history that is,under the radar to,mainstream PH.

I believe they made chims too,but could,be wrong there.

Half correct it would seem. This Tuscan probably did see the drizzle of blackpoll.

However from TVR car club website, paragraph 16 (above the speed 12 picture)

http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/about_tvr.asp

Chimeras were made in Malaysia for thenasian market, going mostly to Australia, Japan and South Africa (although I know of one still registered in Singapore as a complete garage queen)

Happy to apologise if you can prove me wrong. Wiki doesn't mention it (not that that means anything) and all I have ever been told at TVR club days in UK is that bodies were made there. Was it complete cars or did bodies go to the UK and come back to Malaysia as complete cars?

I saw them around 1999 they. had the body moulds, there is a story that the moulds are still there but I haven't seen them since they closed the factory down over 10years ago. Probably like lotus with the 100 elites built here they don't shout about it, lotus plan was to build for the jap market, there is story that the cars were actually shipped to Tokyo and returned because Malaysian built cars could not be sold.

Tuscans were not made in Asia. The car was imported before the import rules changed making it fairly impossible to do so. The Chimaera was made in Malaysia. There's a silver Tuscan, a blue Sagaris and a handfull of Chimaera in HK. That's about it.

So whats the diffrence between a Chimara and a Tuscan? The Chimara was made here know a few people with them I thought they were all the same body just diffrent size engines? Never had much interest in TVR, I was told last week that the molds are still around in Malaysia, but havn't seen them myself.

There seem to be quite a few TVRs and Lotus in Japan, some pics of a customer of mines garage over there:

I'll have to see if he will tell me where they originated from, language is a bit of a problem though! Any translators in da house?
