I know a few expats in Sing with bikes, but noone from here, and all the people I know now are HD ridders. Did you go to Sepang he weekend there where a few SIng guys in the MSS supere bike race.
I know a number of the MSS guys from the trackdays, I also raced a few of them in the BRS a few weeks ago at PG. I'll be doing MSS next season too.Shandy Drinking Car Driver here.
Although have a few mates with assorted bikes, mostly Harley's and Ducatti's although one with an R1 and another nutter who is into his classic (1960's) tuned up Vespa ... sounds like a bunch of angry wasps coming down the road
Ohh and one mate who has one of the new (Madras?) Enfield Bullet's which is rather cool!
Suspect with COE's going over $90k and rising there will be more people going to the big bikes!

I've got a classic (read: heap) Vespa as well, It's ideal for bombing round Singa on. Park it anywhere, on paths, patches of grass you name it and it's still in my ownership!

Strange one that is that it seems you can park a bike anywhere, you can a car as well, I came across a car parked totally on the footpath blocking it off totally cause anyone who was passing to walk on the road.As I just got passed in a traffic warden the ones on the little white bikes pulled up, I asked him if he was going to hrow the book at the car driver and he said " no can not," the wardens juristricion only covered the road and not the foot path its seems the only ones who could actually do anything are the traffic police. I think thats why so many people park the bikes on the footpaths.

The other point is that a parking warden ticket is just a few $$$, a police ticket includes points on your license. And someone will have called the cops to ticket it. Every Singaporean has a little policeman in them!
Most of teh bikes you will see are Malaysian, too much paperwork so just leave them!
Don't they have ridiculous power governor rules on bikes in Singapore? Like they tried in the UK a dace or two ago.
A couple of mates of mine had big bikes in Singers years ago but they were restricted to about 70mph. The motor simply would not rev any higher. I do believe there are a variety of things you can do to circumnavigate such restrictions though, but they will be checked on at the annual inspection.

parking is an interesting science though here. You will probably find that the car mentioned has been posted on STOMP (loss of face, shame them etc)

Yeh agree. If I parked in a car space I'd end up on Stomp: "Stupid Motorcyclist Hogs Car lot without care" with 90% people enraged. As mentioned above, the parking wardens cannot do anything about it really and the Police have to get involved. My friend is a TP as well I get a few hints n tips. I don't do it on Orchard or block the path to attract too much attention. The other point is that a parking warden ticket is just a few $$$, a police ticket includes points on your license. I'm not aware of that, it's not the case anymore I think. The bike license rules are annoying however for locals or those without a license. Luckily most European foreigners can convert the license to a full unrestricted one. A couple of mates of mine had big bikes in Singers years ago but they were restricted to about 70mph.
