In Beijing for 24 hours, where to stay

Morning all,
Me and the missus heading for a 8 day trip to Japan at the beginning of July, with a 24 hour stop over in Beijing to have a nose about.
Bit bewildered where to stay, in terms of area, anyone suggest anything?
Will post our Japan itinerary for some local advice once it is completed!

ETA Missus has just mailed me to say what about the Park Plaza in Wangfujing?
