I'm going to find a Thai' bride out there in November.
20yo female (from birth please) with no kids and no family.
Shouldn't be to hard to find.

Doing what on ships exactly? How did you get the job and would you recommend? Thanks.
I works on ships too, used to live in Thailand as well. I got my job by going down to Singapore and asking around in Loyang Offshore Supply Base, near Changi. That was 20+ years ago and things have changed a lot since then.v15ben just pm me a few days before arrival and I will be more than happy to girls for a few cold ones. If you need any help reference accommodation from someone with a foot on the ground let me know. I have had more than my fair share of good and bad places. Prices and quality vary wildly here.
If anyone else is coming please feel free to get in touch.

Half your luck, I have to live in Bangkok. Also very envious of those on rotation work, but I need to be where the money is full time.
If you have any interest at all in adventure biking though, check out the gt rider site www.gt-rider.com as there are tons of guys on there based up that way, and there's some fantastic ride reports and meets.

Anything not made here is stupid expensive, unless you get a grey market one which may or may not have all the correct papers. Have a look at the price of a new M3!
A friend of mine brings bikes in legitimately from the states, previously owned. Can put you in touch if you want. Speed Triple is going to be an arm and a leg but R1s might be better.
I'm more interested in getting into adventure biking, a decent XR400 or similar would suit me fine, but even those start around 200K, and with a new baby and a new business it's not my top priority!
Give me a shout next time your passing through Bangkok if you fancy a beer and a moan about car and bike prices here though!

Cheers for the invite AJS and ditto if you stray up north. What's with everybody riding er6's here? Are they cheaper for some reason?
Dunno, not into bikes these days ... haven't ridden much more than a honda wave in Phuket for 2 decades at least! In Sing there are 3 license bands for bikes, 150, 250 400 and above (i think ...
So you see a lot of people riding bikes very close to the top of each of those thresholds.
I don't live in Chiang Mai but I love the place and will get in touch next time I manage to get out there. Fantastic city. You can't get lost because of the ring road around the old city walls. A few times when I wasn't sure where I was I headed to the city walls and just did a lap or two until I saw something I recognised.
I hired a bike in 2009 and rode up to Pai. 250 Shadow from Tony's? Big Bikes. Have you seen the mint classic Mercedes taxi with Toyota diesel power? I also love the park with huge catfish in the pond just inside the city wall. Could you imagine that here with barriers around the water etc?
Really miss it actually. Only been twice but spent about a month there in total.
