Tyres and Alignment East Coast?
Discussion
So, the renault failed its inspection on alignment*. Stamford Tyres offer front wheel alignment for $45 (with AA membership) which is pretty good imho. They wouldn't give tyre prices over the phone. Are they competative? Or anywhere else that's well priced (or throws in algnment for free)?
- = and I thought the scrubbed shoulders was just down to my wife's driving style when I wasn't around!
Stamford Tires are as good as anywhere. .... my local one in Loyang Industrial Estate is always very helpful, although i usually get my new rubber from the SPC at the top of Adam Road because they are about the only place in Singa that carries the right size for my Datsun!
eta, might find that if you are doing all 4 corners that they throw the alignment in for free

They did seem rather keen to sell me 4 tyres, when I only really wanted 2. The rears have just over 2mm on them, so no real rush to change them (the car only really tootles around doing school and cold storage runs at 50kph!). They tried three (four?) times to talk me into it. In the end, $190 a corner for a pair of Continental MC5 (Malaysian made) in 225/45/17 fitted seemed pretty good.
Anyway, they spent a lot of time doing the alignment and the printout looks good. Let's see if it passes inspection!
The biggest shock was a text from SWMBO today which said that the car was driving better than ever. In fact she was becoming quite enamoured with the car, until I reminded her of its inability to overtake anything more than a mobility scooter (which would probably need to be running low on battery at the time).
