XJS John - I am sure you know.
Got the family arriving today from Europe and the old man is looking for a decent tailor, trousers mostly.

Any ideas mate?

I owe you a pint for all the information you have given me in the last year!

CYC are the ones that i have used most, they have a few branches, one in Raffles Hotel. Perhaps not teh cheapest but always very good quality.

Otherwise have a bit of fun with the bartering at Far East Plaza on Scotts. (can't remember the name, but there is one on 2nd floor, left from the escalators (i think) has pictures of him with a whole hoast of celebs etc.)

As has been said here before, rule of thumb, get measured once, fitted and adjusted once then final fit and tweak, assume 3 days for a good fast job, anyone that says 24 hours is going to give you a dogs dinner of a whistle!!!

A trick i have never tried but have been told works well by others, go to one of the reputable high end hotels and ask the concierge for a recomendation.

Not sure, but think most of the drivers stayed at the ritz Carlton opposite cjimes so probably the one that the concierge recomended

Took it easy last night as t was the drive from he'll getting to KL, slinging it down with rain all the way, bar a 30 minute reprive where we managed to blow out a tyre!

This was in the wife's car so dive into the boos to find spare, jack etc, but a distinct lack of air.

Fortunately those roadside services guys are great, lent mea wheel and followed me to nearest shop where I managed to get all corners done for a fraction of the sg cost

However it meant we arrived at 1900 rather than 1500hrs, so nothing more than a quick meal in pavilion and some medicinal beers!!

I have good experiences for shirts with marcella. Not exactly what you're looking for as they take too long (manufactured overseas probably), but prices are pretty fixed and it's very european like in it's service. About $59-79 for a shirt just the way you want it.
