Looking for the cheapest way to have a car for a few months until we decide if we will really use it enough to justify buying one. Anyone know of any options out there for $1k a month or less?

you can do month by month hire of something like a Lancer for about $1,200 a month from Avis or Hertz but a mate of mine that was here was getting some very good deals from a smaller private hire company .... Mitsubishi iCar for something like $800 / month.

Let me drop him a line, but he is now in Americas so will take a while for a response.

Many thanks, I'll give them a buzz.

I never knew Subaru did an R1 until I moved here. To me an R1 is a Yamaha (that disappears on the straights only to hold me up later in the corners). wink

i drove it a few times, its actually a very cool car, basically a Japanese Smart car with 2 back seats for kids or girls from OT, not fast but very nippy in town, good at shooting above its weight in the Parkway Parade traffic light GP!!!
