Ok all you Singers expats, im coming over for the F1 and tickets are ordered, i need somewhere to rest my weary head in the evenings/early mornings.....

I know the cost is going to be astronomic and they're going to be difficult to find, however i still need somewhere to stay and need you guys to recommend me somewhere decent, doesnt have to be 5, 4 or even 3 star, just clean and within walking distance of the venue.....

Bingo, XJS and all the others, im all ears.. ears

Woops.
They used to do Singapore (and were good) but, just checked, they do no more, sorry Mr Phumy

What about the usual suspects - Expedia, lastminute, needitnow, hotels.com etc etc?

I can do all the searching on the net, however its still nice to get a recommend from someone who knows or who has used a particular hotel before.

Just came back yesterday from three nights at the Berjaya Hotel near Chinatown. It was the only joint I could find that:

1) Was in a semi-decent location (also had plenty of bars on the street, if that's your thing)

2) Did not cost an arm and a leg for weekday rates (accom in S'pore is astronomical for some reason)

3) Did not have plastic mattress liners and hourly rates (think Hotel 81!)

Was about £110 a night. Rooms not up to super-standards, but more than adequate. Great service.

Don't know if it's anywhere near the circuit (probably not), but there's an MRT station round the corner and public transport in Singapore is ace.

Or just understand you live only once and book yourself into the MO or Fullerton or something.

sorry, missed this one...Was going to recommend the Fairmont or Stamford, as they are on one of the corners of the track.

Golden Landmark is not too far away and more affordable

Where did you end up though Phumy - can take the piss by telling you what a bad choice of hotel you have made!

I understand its walking distance to the MRT so that'll be ok
