Suggestions - a weekend away on my own

Right, assorted drop-outs, alcoholics and part time Vietnamese Homer Simpson-a-likes, I need some advice.
Mrs Bingo is off home to see her father the Major/Minister in sunny Myanmar, and as much as 25 years on an island under house arrest appeals at the moment given the state of my job at the moment, I've decided to use the opportunity to go off and do some exploring (and all my golf buddies are away or hate me).
Work being work, I'm unlikely to be able to get a day's holiday (the flange flaps I work for in London have put paid to that through their own ineptitude at project planning - I digress) so it needs to be doable in 48 hours. Fly friday pm, back Sunday night.
I could do Bali on my own for a weekend, but was wondering if there was anywhere else that I could justify not doing as a couple. Or do I just go whoring in Bangkok for the weekend, but tell her I went to Bintan....?
