The factory supplied steering column is a shaft with a flange on the end. I'm guessing the flange is about 70-80mm in diameter and about 5mm thick. The flange is then drilled to take the crush zone (an IVA requirement) the crush zone is in turn drilled to take the steering wheel.

So there is no replication of a manufacturers shaft spline.

The crush zone is the boss. The wheel bolts straight onto it. Yes it will need a gaiter in order to look nice.

You can get EVERYTHING required to build an Ultima from the factory, and, believe it or not, some things are cheaper than from other sources!

To send a PM (Personal Message) click on the login name of the person you want to contact which will open their profile. In the top right click on 'email me'. Complete your message and send.
This will send an email just to that person so what you say is not seen by others.
The recipient also does not see your email address until he/she has replied and you have passed messages back and forth.
