All Hail Kyle (and Can Am Dave)
Discussion
Well, picked up the GTR from the Likely Lads, Kyle and Dave last night.
Kyle had spent a good 20 hours sorting out a snag list that would make all three Lord of the Ring's seem like a short novel.
They even polished it, something I'd never done (the water beads off the bodywork it's.....amazing!).
Anyhow, the car is nothing short of a revelation but as it was looking so good I had to ruin it by running it for hours at a trackday today.
AND.....nothing fell off (a first) and had a brilliant day!
Plus it goes around corners without rolling offcentre like a misplaced Liverpool shot on a Manchester goal!

Hard right...minimal roll.

"Full Speed Scotty!"
"Aye Aye Captain, Kyle and team have fixed the throttle cable from hell!"

Hard left...
So basically and again. Thanks to Kyle, Can Am Dave and the lads for sorting my car and I thoroughly reccomend you drop them an email if yours ain't performing the way it should!

wow, that looks great Robin!!! Great pictues and you ve had great weather?
How did the clutch feel with that much shorter pedal throw??
Car felt brilliant! Track was Mallory Park and a little damp this morning with constant light rain but no worries as my tired old P Zeros just seem to work okay. Cleared up in the afternoon and so the speeds got higher and higher. How did the clutch feel with that much shorter pedal throw??
Clutch is good, servo really helps so no sore leg, only downside to the new pedal set up is it's a little hard to Toe and Heal with the accelerator being a little higher but we'll sort that on the LS2 right

Hi Robin
Happy to see and hear that the car is working well! Pics look great! The clutch slave was a challenge to machine, glad to hear it is working well! I'm sure we could sort out the accelerator position if it's a problem to 'heel and toe'. Good to hear you had a good day!
Regards Dave

hi(im one of the boys)
we knew heel and toe wasnt going to be quite right but it was 75% throttle or perfect pedals..
The accelerator pedar pivot can not be moved otherwise it will be worse or 75% throttle.. We could have moved your brake pedal one hole and then adjusted the bias equally to come in line with the throttle pedal but as there was no way of testing it on rollers and you had a track day booked, playing with your brakes then you trackdaying in anger wasnt a good idea.Safety always comes first.
If you are keeping that engine for a while Kyle can bring the brake pedal one hole forward and adjust the brakes equally until pedal position is correct for you. You will need to be there to make sure it is comfortable for you
OR
A different ratio between throttle pedal and throttle flap is required. Having looked, the throttle pedal needs a lot of travel to get full throttle at the butterfly. There is no room to lengthen the lever at the pedal so it will need a smaller pivot on the throttle body making OR a linkage making just before the throttle body to alter the ratio....both of which Kyle and Dave can sort for you.
Of course as said if you going to go the LS route that will be sorted out by the boys anyway...Good luck

Brilliant! Looks like you had a lot of fun. Ah those were the days
Any Vid?
(first or many 'reminising posts' I suspect
)
You know what...I set the camera up, hit the 'record' button in the pits. It worked perfectly until I got onto the track then the rotten thing turned itself off! Kept coming up with "File Error, Repair Y/N?" and once repaired it deleted all the track shots.

Only thing I can think off is the mounting vibrates and this causes the camera to cut out due to it's Anti Shake feature!
Anyhow I'll play around with it and get it sorted for the next run (in about a month).

Ah not to worry Dom (and thanks for the help), it's no big deal as I just drop the clutch on downshifts. We'll get it sorted for the LS2 project.we knew heel and toe wasnt going to be quite right but it was 75% throttle or perfect pedals..

well Kyle has given one of the secrets away..... Those exhausts dont help.... especially as the bottom pipe is ground away.
The LT5 can be remapped and alot of horsepower gain with those heads as they are multi-valve and 4 cam(however a can grid will be expensive as you have 4 of them etc etc, but Kyle and Dave will sort you out an LS engine which in the long run will be far better. I havent met Dave yet but his knowledge ive seen on this site and the car he has developed is incredible, so you have some great guys helping you out
Dom.
