Reversing Light.

Has anyone replaced the ns fog light for a reversing light?
I have changed the ns fog light lens for a reversing one, and would like to incorporate the reverse wiring from the g/box into the rear loom plug.
I have looked at the wiring for the US loom but can't work out if it's possible!!!!I'm not sure why there is a linking wire for the fogs. . . . . yep. .I'm still an eletrical numpty.......
Anyone got any ideas?

I think it is regulation for them to have a reverse light but before clear lens LED lights this made the back look out of balance with a white lens on one side. So for the US they can leave out the link and connect a reverse switch. Unfortunately that would be the wrong side for you so you will have to break into the loom and find the other Red/Brown wire to connect to your reverse light.


The other US/UK difference is that we cannot use the inboard brake lights even though they are there. The reason is that the lighting regs say you can't have a brake light and fog light closer than 100mm of each other.

Opps. . . I have connected the additional brake lights!!! I'll disconnect them next year for the MOT. . .
I have been talking to CanamDave and it looks like I will take the power from the '3rd' connection by the link wire, to the g/box switch and then to the reversing light, making quick connects by the waterproof plug.
