My GTR has the optional Intrax shocks. Shortly after the car was put on the road one of the shocks developed a small leak. Last week I got tired of the mess and removed the shock and disassembled it. Upon inspection the floating piston was found to be marked up as if it had been hit with a hammer and there was some metal in the oil. This explains the leak. I contacted Intrax USA they were less than helpfull. No service no parts. Intrestingly I learned later they are not part of Intrax in Europe. I then contacted Richard at Ultima explained the deal and he was ON IT.. By the end of the day the parts were out of Beligum and headed to L.A.3 days later the parts arrived at the door. I then realised that the parts did not include specifications for oil to use or pressure required. In addition to getting my parts sent to me Richard had also E mailed me the name of Mr. Intrax (henk) and his phone number. I called Henk and had a great conversation about his involvment with the Ultima project. I told him that I thought sending the shock for repair to Europe was a little over the top not only wouyld the car be out of service for at least a month the damn freight bill would be more then the repair. At this point Henk offered to immediatley send me a replacemnet shock if I would send the other one back for repair. Folks this is what I call WORLD CLASS product support. Both Richard at Ultima and Henk at Intrax went out of their way to support the customer. They took a situation that I was originaly pissed at because of Intrax USA and turned me into an even more loyal customer. Lee

Sounds great, when you speak with him again ask if we can ship our shocks to him to have the travel reduced allowing removal of the rear tires while the car is lifted off the ground.
And ask if he can re-valve them and fit them with stiffer springs.
Thanks,
Ken
thats good, in todays day and age where people do their upmost to get out of honouring warranties its good to hear. And ask if he can re-valve them and fit them with stiffer springs.
Thanks,
Ken
Interesting, I had one leak a couple of years ago. I had to ship the unit out to Intrax, pre-pay for the work (about £100) and pay for the post packaging etc and it took about a month I recall.
Perhaps things are better now. Do you have a specific contact number etc for Intrax for if/when it happens again please? They do leak sometimes and it looks like shipping them is the only option. Couldn't find anyone in the UK that could fix them.
