More triangulation the better, as long as the weight doesn't go up to much....
But on a foot note the Rear section of the chassis (The bar that your Gearbox mounts to) is quite superfluous. It does not add any Torsional rigidity to the chassis it is only there to help mount the gearbox and hang the rear clip. I would remove any of the major upper sections there and just triangulate the section in front to the lower Rails at the back and mount the box of the lower rails, or make the upper section just out of lighter tube..... But that's me...
Very Nice anyway, nice to see someone who's dared to make an Improvement Love that engine... Keep going bud....

Tried thinner pipes, more and less pipes. In the end I measured 1.5 kilo extra in this configuration. And most of it goes in the joining of pipes and bolts. The thing is that when you see it in real, it looks the way I wanted it. Still looking if some thin pipes to the front can bring something. From the upper thin pipe from the cross, down to the rollbar point. I will make some pictures when ready

Looks to me like there is some significant improvements in stiffness there, yes its a bit belt and braces but thats exactly what I did with mine and to hell with the 5kgs weight penalty, least I know it stiff as hell lol.
Love the engine installation as well, do you have more info on it as Id be very interested?

the tape is a valid design tool and has its roots back in the Brabham F1 cars.
they did a similar thing with cotton string lines all over the chassie. when the chassi is flexed or in torsion you can see which tubes will be under the most stress due to how tight they are. a space frame chassie is normally engineered to have tubes in tension. if the string or tape goes losse and flopy it is probably not going to offer any practical sitffness to the car.
consider the tape a very quick and extreemly valuable FEA tool.

Interesting project. Hard to say from pictures but it sure look like that exhause will have clearance problems with the wheels where it exits thru the GRP. But you probably have checked that.
Can you please give med some more info about the transaxle. I contacted Rickarda several times a few years back but never got a reply from them... How much do they cost and what sort of power can they handle?
