As some on here know, since the unveiling of the GTW at Stonleigh in '07, or was it '06 scratchchin, the car has been mothballed in my garage since with more than a small handfull of issues needing attention but as from next week things will be picking up from where they left off with a magazine shoot being the first outing the car has had since 'doomsday' as I have come to call it yes. I have always said there will be a video to come and that promise will now become a reality. As well as getting the car up and running a small host of yet MORE modifications have been carried out and the car is looking better than ever now, you will not be dissapointed.

Wayne,

Thanks for you know what, nice surprise when returning from hols, cheers.

When are you next at Mr SS's? Will need to go down there fairly soon to pick some bits up, or have you picked yours up from him already?

Cheers

Well, after two gearbox faults, clutch problems, a miss-aligned starter pinion to ring gear relationship resulting in a replacement starter and a smattering of new pinion gears, a new starter (ultimately not needed thank God, but still purchased 'just in case') and then an upgraded better one altogether, a near cataustrophic engine problem and a replacement cam all within 500 miles, a lean fuel mix is the only problem I have NOT yet experienced!
I don't know about the good luck but I really do think that maybe the bad luck is finally at an end in any case. Michelle sends her regards (but allas, no Lemon cake, sorry).

Seen it and it looks absolutely great both aesthetically and in engineering terms, it's a credit to all involved. I am only sorry I didn't hear the beastie start up but full respect to mr S for insisting he wouldn't start it before it was properly warmed up!

Hope you got it home ok.

Wayne,

After reading so many informed posts on engines are you sure yours was not made by AS?

Yes Clivey, I will be going ( I take it you do mean Stonleigh? ) but have not got a clue what day yet, I will try and make it on Sunday but it depends on how and when the convoy is arranged for, when it gets arranged that is yes

If it were possible to talk about and think of the best possible engine available for the GTW I would have the most powerfull indestructable motor known to mankind but that is not the case although fortunately I have the Guru at hand to mantle me the second best thing, a Knight Racing Services all ali Kinsler injected Motec managed fire breathing 434 SBC with 650 bhp. Sure, I am dissapointed that things have not gone more smoothly than they have but the way I see it is that if I had bought an AS motor and had any problems, they would have been put right one way or another but at the end of the day, I would still have been left with an AS motor wink
