There are two alternatives here. Either I totally suck on computers (hopefully not the case since they are my source for money to the Ultima) or the search function on this forum is the most useless crap on the whole internet.

Everytime I search for a topic that I KNOW have been on the Ult forum the search engine can't find it even if I KNOW almost the exact phrases that have been used in the topic. This has been going on forever. But today I tested to search for a word that I know I posted an houer ago and the damn search engine couldn't find it. The search was very complex... (not) I searched for the word "Sweden" in the Ultima forum and it didn't return the topic regarding an almost lost direvers license.

Is it only me or do you guys have the same problem???

Sorry for venting smile

I'm all new to this too, but the search does seem woeful at the best of times, I still haven't got a clue how to quote properly yet either.

They probably only build the index overnight so any content created during the day will only show up in a search the following day. I also note they only include content within a 2 year time window - lots of useful content difficult to get at.

Sometimes I use the extended features of Google. You can specify a site to search --> http://www.google.co.uk/search?rls=ig&hl=en&am...

ETA - and if you just want to search the ultima section include f=20 in the search term --> http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&rls=ig&am...

Agreed. PH seems to use very old, outdated Forum software. They should be embarrassed that Google is a better search function for their site than their own search function. Hopefully they have plans to update it soon.
