HI

I was just wondering if anyone has any good contacts for carbon fibre sheeting?? I need quite a bit as i want to make various panels and wheel guards with it.

Have a good Christmas and New Year.

A few links I've come across - Haven't used any of the companies myself so don't know what they are like to deal with etc.

I've used carbon-Mods a couple of times when I had the Caterham... not sure I'd recommend them as the quality was not that hot.

Fairynuff... I bought cycle wings from them and they were a bit rough!

Guess I've been spoiled as up to that point I'd been dealing with RiF who has an obsessive attention to detail.

I agree with you. It's ok stuff, I wouldn't buy anything in areas of constant visibility after the flat sheets I've had.

Whose Rif Scott?

RiF... or Richard in France (but he's actually in Scotland!). He's a BlatChat (Lotus 7 club member) who makes carbon-bits for 7's.

Absolutely top-drawer craftsmanship!

The last things I bought from him were 'seconds' dash and aero-screen... he did show me why they were 'seconds', but I couldn't see the textural change in the surface that he was talking about! In any case, the parts were still WAY superior to Carbon-Mods in terms of finish and weight.

CARBON BITS WEBSITE

I found that the Carbon-Mods parts I got were no real benefit to GRP as they were nearly as heavy as the standard GRP parts and there was no real cosmetic benefit as the surface finish was flawed and the edges quite rough. They may well have improved over time - it was over 18 months ago that I last used them, so maybe better for a recent user to pass comment.
