Wheel Specification

In anticipation of lots of nice wet trackdays in the next few months I am about to order a set of wheels just for rainy days - with reduced width at rear and preferably 17inch......however, don't know what to order.

What are the mounting bolts/studs described as? As most normal wheels seem to be made for conventional conical nuts I am a bit stumped. Also, what is the offset?

The stud pattern is Ford Granada so the studs will be the same.

You will need whatever nut style is required for the rim you choose.

If you are going narrower & smaller then the offset could be whatever you choose. Do make sure the 17" rim will go over the callipers.

Thanks chaps. PCD - fine. Offset - I can measure off the standard wheels.

However if I order a VW/Audi/Granny wheel does it automatically get speced with a tubular/sleeve Ultima type nut or do I have to specify that it's not for conical nuts?

Apologies for sounding a tad dim but it is not obvious from various wheel sites I've been looking at.

Well, if it helps, I have set of AMG wheels in the shed and they fit fine!

Not too many wheels come with floating washers and flat seats. Most will have 60 degree seats. Good news is that it doesn't really matter. Ensure you have the correct thread engagement (normally 1.5 times stud diameter). I like 20 turns. And don't forget to count the turns with the wheels off to bottom out (assuming closed nut) to ensure you aren't bottoming when you thing you are torquing!!

A side benefit of 60 degree is that you can go mega light on your nuts. 19g mine compared to 100g+ of factory!!

If AMG fit you are laughing!! Super cool!

Aaaaaaaaah, enlightenment, so I can use any old 112 x 5 I fancy with 60 degree conventional seats?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I broke one of my lugs today on my rear hub. Does anyone know where to source a new lug in the USA?
