Calling all Guru's......
Took the BLICK Wildebeast out today , no rain, quite cold too, 16 d/g cent.
I have a question on the dry sump plumbing. I fitted a Canton ally sump with large windage tray. Its got three -12 AN pickups , so I took two -12AN into one -12 AN "Y" peace off the sump . At the pump is one -10AN from the scavenge valley two -12 AN from sump and one -12 AN main tank feed , so thats four into the pump. Exiting the pump is one -12 AN to the engine (pressure) and two -12 AN to the top of the main tank , factory supplied , I added an extra -12 AN feed in. On top of the main tank I changed the breather to a -12 AN as well, that connects up to the breather catch tank also fitted with -12 AN . The breather tank also has two -12 AN pipes from either tappet cover to vent .
On the opposite side of the breather catch tank at the top is two -12 AN fitted with cone type filters offset from the tappet side of course. In the tank is foam that the factory supplied me.
Hope you got all that , reads correct to me , but then I do have sun stroke , ask Wayne.

My dilemma is oil is coming out of the filters and going all over the gearbox , what a mess , quite a lot at that. Oil pressure is at +- 65 psi
(4 1/2 - 5 bar).
The main tank I filled back to the mark that the factory said it should be , having said that because the ally sump is so much bigger it took 2lt more oil to get back to the same mark. The engine pressure feed from the pump is fitted with an inline Canton thermostat which will only open to the cooling radiator at 215 f , so with running in,it hasn't opened yet.
What have I C
cked up.
Regards
Andrew

Sounds like you just have too much oil in the system - once the engine, and hence the scavenge pump, is running then there will be almost no oil in that large sump of yours (**DRY** Sump!!), so the extra two liters that you added is probably surplus to requirements.
Have to agree the sump has nothing to do with the oil needed in your dry sump system. The reason is in the name 'DRY SUMP'. All the capacity you need is in the dry sump tank!Regards Dave
