Simon, you are very nearly correct, that rather striking Maclaren Orange is nice indeed yes, but the new BLACK?, I don't think so.

Sorry about that, I was called away and did not have time to finish what I was saying;
I have liked that colour every since I first laid eyes on Simon's CanAm, ( before it belonged to him that is and in fact before it belonged to the fellas before him! ), at Goodwood back in '03 ish and got very excited when I first saw it on a GTR that I believe was in the Cannonball or Gumball Rally. It is a bit more than a designer colour I feel due to it's origins, I am looking forward to seeing the finished article.

I originally ordered Tan coloured leather from the factory....

.... because I modified the dash I needed a new dash cover. When I went to the upholsterers he was doing a Zonda in black with blue stitching....a lot of the rich boys here like to get their Ferraris/Zondas etc retrimmed when they buy them and this is the best guy in town.... I couldnt help myself... I went there to get a dash cover and came out with a complete retrim.

The seats have alacontara in the centre section, napa leather on the outer areas. He made a padded rear bulkhead. The work on the rollcage is superb... you can see the double stitching there... its stitched up like a steering wheel on the opposite side to the red stitching. The carpets are all edged in leather with red stitching.

It cost me GBP1250!!!- I think that was a bargain.

When I finish the re-do of the dash its going back for door trims and headlining.

Funny thing was that at SEMA last year a little Chinese guy saw JEff's car and tracked him down and said "Oooh .. I lo dis car, I see in hong kong, I make vely nice one for customer".... apparently my guy does a load of export to the USA.

I recommend black with orange stitching ala Lambo-Ferrari....it really does finich the car off... the factory interior is a good "race" interior...sure,..... I have a few extra kilos in there....but it doesnt look anything like a "kit car"..

Oh... the camera doesnt do this justice... the black is not as shiny as it looks... and the red is not really flourescent....

Cheers Wayne,

Must get it out of the garage and back on the road again. Hopefully get a few more sunny days this year or I'll have to come over to the GTR side.

It never ceases to amaze me how reasonably priced leather interior work can be. My wife wanted leather in her BMW 120d. We will not buy new but 6 months old and no 120d's available with leather so we had interior (all seats and door cards) re-trimmed in maroon leather. Looks good and only cost £900 to do.

It may have appeared on the US website but it is a UK car and it belongs to a fellow called Mark Peters. I was talking to Ditto the other day and he knows Mark well and he tells me that work on the car is to re commence soon.
The front grill and other stuff were done by my man SSS who also recreated similar on the GTW.
