ls2 engine mounts

I have an LS2 engine.
Just about to fabricate engine mounts.
How thick should the plate be that mounts to the engine block.
Too thick, and I am just carrying additional weight.
Too thin, and it will bent by the torque of engine.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What material are you using? 8-10mm would be plenty for steel.

My mounts are on 3mm steel plate, they are strong for their weight, and more importantly should not flex. can't see weight being much of a problem with an LS2 on board.

Are you making adaptor plates to use SB engine mounts on an LS - or solid mounts?

I'm using SB engine mounts with adaptor plates, mine are (at a guess) 4 or 6mm - you can buy them off the shelf.

One other thing to note, there's 2 types of engine mount, you need the low profile ones.

Some more information.
Intending on using
- Power Flex top hat bushes (Alfa Romeo PFR1-405)
- 60mm x 30mm box section 3mm thick

Aiming to then weld this box section onto plate to pick up the 4 of the mounting bolts on the engine block.

My question is really how thick should this plate be (that mounts onto the engine block). 4mm or thicker

You could make your life very easy and buy those engine mounts and the LS>SB adaptor plates.....
