GTR Newbie, thought I'd say hi!

Hi guys & gals, just thought I'd say a quick hello and also thanks to so many of you who have posted so much fantastic info, this site is such a help, especially as the factory tell me I am the first customer here(Ireland).

I spotted the GTR at a show in the UK years ago, thought I'd never be able to own one. Bought a Kit Car mag a few years back, which had a little info on the GTR and got me thinking about it again. I organised a visit to the factory for my birthday early last year, met Ted who is a very interesting chap and a gentleman. I was brought for a tour of the local roads, which is still one of the most amazing trips I have had and then spent the following weeks trying to figure out a way to beg/steal/borrow the funds.

However, with the help of a friendly financial institute, I am in the build process!!

I bought the kit last year, became ill for months, then only recently got started at building it, but what a car! I'm currently about to start(when I have sufficient funds) the 5th stage.

I intend to head over to the UK this year and would love to meet up with some fellow builders.

Sorry for the long rant, been ages wanting to say hi, felt like I was cheating just reading everyone elses stuff

If you want to meet up then the most effective use of your trip over would be Stoneleigh kit show as there will no doubt be a dozen or more lined up for your perusal.
It makes a good weekend and I usually camp on the Ultima owners pitch.

^ Afraid not, I am already committed to birthday celebrations for my good lady, ( her BD is on the 5th ), and as I was absent last year, I feel that I must comply this time round, hopefully I will be there in '09

Cheers for the info Wayne, hope to make it over, but it will be without my GTR, unless I win the lotto in the meantime. Could always try to push it there on the dolly.....
