I've got my CMS cable shifter and side shifter installed and it seems to work very well. I am having issues however adjusting it so that I can get it in R & 5th. There are a lot of adjustments to this system and it get confusing choosing the right place to make an adjustment for the desired outcome. I've only got about 20 miles on the car and the G50/52 has loosened up a lot making it easier to shift. The stock gearing seems to be ok, but I find I start in 2nd unless I'm on a hill. Oh, when I first started driving the car, I also found out that it starts from a dead stop in 3rd too. I had no idea what gear I was in and at first it was really hard to shift, so I found myself in 3rd from a stop light. The LS7 is amazing, no problem, plenty of torque to move it out easily.

Clive-Yes, I am just using the stock Z06 PCM.

Fran-What benefits are there for using the programable one you suggested above?

Thanks,
Paul

If the engine is upgraded beyond the capabilities of the stock PCM then the next gen. programmable unit will be the ticket.

Ah PN- 19166567 yes I have the 2008 cat.

But have been told that it has to use the MAF sensor, you cant program it with out it...also been told that top end tuning not so good with MAF control....

Need more info before I can make a decision.... otherwise I'll have to go Motec...

SanDiego,

I've got the CMS cable shift on my GTR G50-01. For my mounting points, I lengthen the cable coming to the side lever for easier entry into reverse. Opposite for 5th. Will take some minor trial and error to get just right. We did have to exchange the aluminum side arm in favor of a steel piece since the pin holding it to the CMS shifter box was starting to woller making for poor shifting. Just make sure you have no loosness there.

Hope this helps.

Dave
