Shipping Ultima to Canada
Discussion
I am moving from the UK to the West Coast of Canada later in the year and I wondered whether anyone has any direct experience of this, or can shed any light on the regulations/requirements. I seem to remember reading something about Canadian authorities being really strict. This will affect my decision to take it or, reluctantly, part with it!
For info, I have a 2003 factory built/serviced GTR with 383ci AS (550/525 bh/ftlb) engine, getrag, stack, etc., etc., with 7500 miles on the clock. She has spent much time under her covers, but is absolutely great and I would prefer to take to Canada if it makes sense!

I moved to Calgary, and I'm sorry but you have no chance of bringing it Canada. All cars brought in (If considered by "Transport Canada" to be enough components to be a Car) must pass the Canadian regulations, including 8mph bumpers and loads of other regs I can't remember. A Completed Ultima will never pass these regs. They do not allow "Kit Cars" full stop, and even if you brought in the Parts you could only bring in the Bare Chassis Body and Glass. The rest you would have source Locally......
This is why the only Kit car companies in Canada really only sell to the USA, as exporting is Easy.
Email me if you want a chat...
