currently lookin at the 427 ci, 800 bhp (http://www.amerspeed.com/cgi-bin/showultimaengines.cgi)
can add a supercharger to the 427 ci 800 bhp? so i can take it to aprox 1000+ bhp.
what is the best gear box for 1000+ bhp?
Have you driven one yet??currently lookin at the 427 ci, 800 bhp (http://www.amerspeed.com/cgi-bin/showultimaengines.cgi)

Tell us why you would want a 1000+ bhp. That level of power is only good for setting records. So far it has only been done with turbos in an Ultima. It's easier to control the boost level with turbos. You would need to have a transaxle custom built to take that kind of power. California Motorsports have built G50 transaxles that can take 1000bs of torque.currently lookin at the 427 ci, 800 bhp (http://www.amerspeed.com/cgi-bin/showultimaengines.cgi)

breaking a record is one of my main ambition.
i dont like turbos, they have too much turbo lag,all the powers are in the high revs.(eg mates supra).
i like the sound of the super chargers.
i havnt driven one but looks a bargain and a very good prospect.
btw can ultima can-am chasis take 1000+ bhp? is it even possible to get 1000+ bhp without turbos?
how much can the standard g50 gear box take?

There's a 1000hp TT Canam here >>>http://www.schwartzperformance.com/ttls7canam.htmso i have to get a ls7 engine.

The answers to your gearbox question are on this forum, try a search.
As far as I know there's only a handful of Ultimas out there with power in the region over 1000hp:
Jeff Schwartz's GTR
The Canam built by Jeff Schwartz
"GTR-TT"'s TT Lexus engined GTR
The TT Small Block GTR built by Nelson Racing
You need to go for a ride in one with 500HP before you decide on more than that.
iv seen the shwartz ultima.sounds awful, but quick.
is it possible to get 1000+ bhp without turbos, from the chevys.
iv read a article a bout a man who put two hayabusa turbo engines in one ultima. one drives the back wheels, the other the front.1000bhp.
the fastest car iv driven is a lp640, 640 bhp lambo.

And how fast did you go in the lambo?is it possible to get 1000+ bhp without turbos, from the chevys.

As a guide, 200mph in a Murcielago (not a 640) feels like 150 in a GTR. So 200 in a GTR must feel insane!!!

the thing is, top speed is not my main priority.acceleration is.
i want mine to be better to live with, than the bugatti, and faster accelarating, than the bugatti
btw fastest iv been in the lambo was 140mph, accelaration was actually scary.
I love my Ultima but comparing it to the Bugatti I don't think so! The Yeyron may as well come from another planet. The two cars are like chalk and cheese mate!i want mine to be better to live with, than the bugatti, and faster accelarating, than the bugatti

Contact the Ultima Factory for a test ride and see what you think then!

The twin hyabusa engined car is also turbocharged. Big time.
You might be able to get 1000bhp out of a non turbocharged car but you are looking at serious money if you can, turbos and superchargers are the easiest and quickest way of getting high power. Consider the engine as an air pump, the more air you can get into and out of it the more power you will have. Get a big V8, make it even bigger and you will pump more air therefore more power. A turbo/supercharger is an alternative to lots of expensive engine modifications as it forces air into the engine when it would normally be sucking air in. And, of course there's a physical limit to how large you can make an engine and it still fit inside the car, the bigger it is physically, the heavier it is and that's another discussion.
Power to weight is what's needed! Low weight, high power, good balance of this produces a good handling and truly quick car.
Try the factory ride in a 500bhp car.

btw how good is the getrad 6-speed gear box provided by ultima?
is it fully adjustable? what is the most power it can take?
If you are looking to make big power then forget the Getrag (G96) as there are no alternative gears for it yet. Go for a rebuilt G50 with the right gearing or even a G96/50 or a GT2/GT3 transaxle. You will need the right gearing as a supercharged engine tends to run lower revs. I have a supercharged chevy and I only run it to 6,500rpm. Some of the naturally aspirated engines will rev quite a bit higher.is it fully adjustable? what is the most power it can take?

First: outside of a straight line on a race track were are you going to use 1000 hp in an Ultima. Second, yes you can build 1000 hp in a non boasted engine, lots of revs, big valve springs, lots of cam and a big check,if you get 2000 miles out of it on the street you'll be very lucky.lets see 640 hp lambo that weighs maybe 3800 lbs vs a GTR at 2100 lbs let me do the math. On second thought go to the fatory get the ride in the 550hp car then talk smack about a 1000 hp car and how you don't want any lag or pressure control in the lower gears. Just my ideas. if a guy who's owned a Ultima for a while says he wants a little more power I respect that. But I have had some fast cars for thier days and 525hp I have now in the GTR will keep me very humble. Lee

I'm assuming you're thinking of an ls7 based engine. Or will you use ickle boost?
