377 cubic inch SBC
Discussion
G-Man, the owner of the original record breaking car has a 377 motor installed in his GTR, albeit a carburetor engine, and that was the way I was originally going but in the two years that it took to have my mill built, had changed my mind and gone for a larger displacement 'because I could'.
On paper, the 377 has all the right credentials. Not a torque monster and so is kind on the transmission/clutch and associated parts but will happily rev to 7,500rpm and makes good horsepower. G-Man has 18 degree heads on his lump and for this you will need different headers but well worth it in the long run. If you are seriously interested in this format, PM me, I have some information + that WILL be of interest/help to you
