Have a manufacturer in the US willing to product a 3.0 ring and pinion set for the getrag. Would need a few folks committed to purchasing before starting production. I realize this has been discussed before, but I'd like to make it happen. Let me know if you are interested.

Hi Keith

No it won't fit the GT2 box! The GT2 ratios are much better than the Getrag. The Getrag gear ratios could do with being taller which is why people are looking a diffrent final drive ratio. The GT2 box is the one to have.

Regards Dave

They will guarantee. Did not talk about cost. Thought I would test the level of interest first. Will get back to you

The getrag gears will not fit the GT2 box.

The manufacturer is GBox, though I'm sure they will have someone else cut the gears. No quote yet. Thought I'd get some pre-orders first. I would guess in the $2500 to $3000 USD range.

CMS quoted me a similar price for their 3.0. Interestingly they also suggested I upgrade the shift forks and if doing a fair bit of track work to upgrade the synchro rings to steel (I think Graham had problems with one of his synchro's IIRC). I would be interested to know what issues other owners have had with wear/tear/failure on this box before I consider the bits I upgrade. What lead time did Gbox quote for manufacture ?

Edited to add : BTW make sure you get an 'all in' price - CMS told me that in stripping the box you must replace oil seals, gaskets and main bearings - which works out at an additional $725

Will get "all in" price. FYI, My box has been modified somewhat. It has limited slip, 993 synchro's/ cones, 2nd gear dog ring welded, added bearing surface on main shaft. All this to make it more reliable.
