I've been told the Ultima use the Titan racks - for which I've got a rather long spec list here. Can anyone confirm the total turns lock to lock on theirs? By the figures I've been quoted, the maximum I can get is 2.1 turns lock to lock, which seems a bit quick? Or is that about right?

I seem to remember something like 2.25 or very close.

You can change the pinoin gear on a Ultima/Titon rack to change from 2.4 turns to 2.1 turns, and there is a Excentric shaft to set the backlash.... FYI

quafe also do a range of pinion gears for diferent steering racks. might help you depending on the shaft anglethat you need coming out of the rack

are you still going central seat ?

I am indeed, hence the centre fix rack from Titan - finally got my suspension geometry sorted last night (I think!) so just got to decide on how much negative Ackerman I'm going to stick in there and then got all the rack dimensions to do tonight. I'll have a peek about and see if there is anything commercially available off the shelf first, but it's extremely unlikely. Have to say Titan have been great though, supplying me all the dims so I can mock it up in CAD etc.
