Factory LS7 engine mounts

Hi

Has anyone fitted the factory engine mounts to an LS engine, cant quite figure out the R/H side which has the air con compressor mounted, seems to not want to fit even with compressor and bracket removed, maybe i'm missing somthing simple? any info and pics would be much appreciated.

Andy I mounted a ls1 with GTO brackets into my GTR. the bracket on the right side had to be clearenced about 3/8 of an inch to accomadate the a/c Mount. These were after market brackets. They would fit on the block without the A/C mounted. I quess my question would be are you using Corvette bracketts and pulleys were the altenator sits up high on the left side of the car or GTO were the altenator sets low on the left side? The Corvette setup sets farther forward in the car by about 1/2 inch and should not require any clearencing such as I had to do with the GTO mounts. lEE

Mine was a tight fit and needed a bit of elongation of the holes in the mount (the hole where the long bolt goes through).

If it is a LONG way away from fitting - you have the wrong mounts. There are two types of mount, thick ones and thin ones.... you need the thin ones. If you search for old posts I posted the part numbers somewhere. I had the wrong (thick) ones to start with.

It is still a tight fit with the thin mounts, and you will need to releive the holes a little bit. To get mine to fit, I also ground down one end of a spare bolt to a taper, then cut the head off it. I put the AC side in first with a bolt, then offered the other side up, put the sharpened bolt in and drove it home (and out the other side) with the engine mount bolt.

Are you fitting a factory supplied engine/AC system?

If not, and if you are using a GM compressor, you need to use spacers to set it out a little further from the block. I posted some stuff on this earlier this year.

The parts came direct from the factory so i dont have part numbers, at the moment I dont have an alternator or air con compressor fitted, but I still cant get the R/H engine mount fitted to the block without cutting it up a bit, i'll speak to the factory about it, just wandered if anyone had used these mounts before?
