Introducing another GTR new build......

Thought I'd better introduce myself (Simon, wrong side of forty!!)and the build to everyone here - been a bit of a background lurker over the last few months...or was it years?!

Anyways I've now placed my order with Richard and Ted - I've decided to order pretty much everything in one go with the exception of the body and transmission parts....hopefully delivery should be sometime in November so expect I'll be bombarding you all with questions and queries whilst I have a crack at the chassis over the Xmas break!! Location wise I'm based in Lowestoft in Suffolk and obviously it would be good to hear from any other builders/owners within a reasonable distance & possibly arrange to meet up during the build.....

Now to the best bit introducing the basic spec - well after much thought I've decided on the following.....Track focused GTR with rose-jointed suspension, stack display, RH shift and minimum 650hp LS7 engine(possibly 800hp)& all black wheels.....body colour will either be Orange or Black unless I decide to spray!!

Really glad I've finally taken the plunge and can barely wait for the build to start.........I have access to some pretty serious CNC capability and expertise so will hopefully be developing some nice trick parts and touches through-out the build and will try and keep you all posted either on here or via dedicated website time allowing!

Anyways better get back to work....think I'm gonna need to keep topping up the ole piggy bank !!

Well guys - one thing's for sure it's gonna have black wheels!! Actually looking at either the Dymag 5 spokes or their carbon/mag combo.....black/black or orange/black...decisions,decisions.....you know this things starting to keep me awake at night / one thing's for sure it either a quick std build or it's gonna take me a long, long time to complete!

Welcome and congrats on behalf of the Yank contingent...

That's the biggest decision facing you at the moment...color. Ted gave me six weeks to tell him what color I wanted. Oh, the joy and the agony. Looking forward to seeing the custom parts.

Orange would look great with black accessories...wheels (defo go for the dymag carbon mag combo (reckon on 5kg per wheel saving ie 20kg per set which 'they' say can equate to similar performance gain of losing a factor of 4x off body weight (80kg)!!)), meshes, grilles, seats dash etc. Black is good if you intend to have any accessories in carbon or graphite or chrome.

I truely envy your position right now.

Thanks Lucky....you're right about the orange/black combo with specific black detailing.........to my mind one of the nicest supercar colour combos out there....still undecided on the black versus the orange but if I decide to go with the carbon/mag Dymag then I'll probably go this route rather than the all black....then again black/black is a real cool look.....hmmmmm gotta make my mind up soon so I can get a good nights sleep!! Thanks guys....I'm sitting here at work doodling around with some sketches and colour mark-ups and have decided to go with..............................................the full monty TANGO & BLACK including the Dymag carbon/mag combo.....final decision, no phone a friend or ask the audience any more......I need a good nights sleep!!

ORANGE with black wheels and full black/carbon detailing it is then......yipeeee Thanks for the feedback.....first decision made with the support of the forum!!!!! That's the overall look of the car finalised now need to sort out the dashboard layout.....need to have a chat with LuckyP as just seen the photos of his and to my mind that's just about spot on.....thanks again guys.....

Tango/Black/Carbon Dymags/LS7....I think you couldn't spec better.

Please keep chrome outta the picture, I'd go the leather route not Alcanrara and can I suggest a full carpet and roof lining?

This has the potential of being the best spec ever!!

Check orange/black Lotus Exige for detailing ideas.......

I had mine done including roll cage.. black with red stitching... black and orange panels would look cool
