Preventing knock

Has anyone successfully fitted a knock prevention system ? Can such a thing interface with the MSD-6AL unit and if so, how does it work/hang together ? I noticed from a quick thread search a couple of you may have done this already.

I don't believe the MSD has any processing capability to do anything with a knock signal. They may do an add-on module but I've not heard of one.

Those on here who have talked 'Knock' are using aftermarket ECUs like the Motec, Emerald or Megasquirt.

Not sure anyone has actually had any success with it.

I just noticed the J&S Safeguard system - looks really good.

You can use a saab widget that senses knock & normally retards boost to adjust fuel pressure instead apparently

That system looks pretty good and is very similar to the system that operates within my ECU. My ECU controls the MSD Digital 6-Plus that I run with my ignition. Both of them use the standard GM knock sensor. Are you looking at this with regard to supercharging your engine or just concerned about knock in general?
