tight corners + fuel starvation??

Has anyone else had a similar problem? when I go round a tight corner (allbeit slowly) The engine rpm drops and it almost wants to stall, If I rev it, it knocks and rattles, then picks up and is ok. I think it may be fuel starvation or surge in the float chamber?? when I say tight corners I am talking a 90 degree+ in a car park for example...any ideas?

I have a naturally carbed SBC in an Ultima. If that is what you have, you should not be getting fuel delivery problems turning sharp corners in parking lots. If you have an un-modified Holley carburettor, you will get problems under high levels of braking because what happens is the gas in the rear float chamber will flow over and flood the back half of the intake manifold with liquid petrol and the engine will stall. But this is what happens if you throw the engine into neutral and jump hard on the brakes. It is a well known problem, and you can buy a kit from Holley that shows you how to install baffles in the carburettor in order to prevent the over-flow flooding of the engine.
But I don't think that is what you need. My guess (novice that I am) is that you have your float levels set so low that even a mild sideways g-force is sloshing the fuel away from the jet intake inside the carb and starving the engine. There are lots of very talented people on this forum - many of them helped me build my GTR. Keep posting info and questions and you will get the right advice.
