Rear clip gas struts

Hi,

Does anyone have the dimensions of the rear gas struts (just body length). Is it possible to use a slightly higher/longer lift or does the rear of the clip hit the ground?

Using 2 gas struts on the front clip to replace the over centre lock. Worked all the geometry out in CAD so should work (will post a pick if it does!!)

Getting nearer all the time!

I think you will find it will hit the ground or your back tyres.

The mount position for the strut on the chassis is pretty much a given.
The mounting point on the clip is just where you choose to drill the hole so provided the strut you use is not grossly different in size I don't see why it could not be accommodated.

As Dilley says, the bottom of the clip will rub against the tyres (more), but the other consideration is SVA, they require the rear clip to be raised with lights and hazzards on, as these must be visible with the clip raised.

The length of black body of the strut is 21cm.

So I thought I'll do the decent thing and measure them.
Seemed easier to pop one off and measure it on the bench.
I now know exactly what size they are, make & model and that I need a pair as both mine are fcuked......bugger.

Extended length 398.
Body 213.
Stroke 150.
Strength 135N

Will get a price tomorrow.
