During my weekly patrol of my favorite sites I came across:

www.msdfuelinjection.com

Looks interesting, particularly if you have an LS engine..

Anyone had any experience?

I think eliot is using both the injectors and the 4 port throttle body on his Dakar.
He's into Megasquirt so will not have used the ecu but may be able to comment on what it offers compared to the Megasquirt.

Looks like a batch fire ECU like the Holley Commander or MegaSquirt systems. Not sure I'd want one of those on an LSx when you can use the GM unit which is sequential and should give you a much better tune (especially if you haven't modifed the engine).

Then I did spend the afternoon wrestling with my Megasquirt trying to get a smooth idle so I might be biased.

No view really - looks more like a branding excercise to me though.

If i were fitting an LS engine, I would spend a little effort getting the factory ECU runnning first as that offers the best refinement - Without doubt I would want to be able to get into the ecu though, using something like EFI live..

Is there any real point to having sequential though? Or does that just make life more difficult?

The only real benefit of sequential injection is for part throttle economy as all EFI works as batch fire above around 3000rpm.

For DIY EFI I agree that sequential is overkill. I know that first hand that batch fire EFI has more than enough parameters to get pretty much anyone mixed up from time to time.

If you were dropping an unmodified LS2 or LS7 into a car and didn't need to modify the map much then taking advantage of the clever mapping and complexity of an OEM EFI unit seems like a good idea.

Ultimas are predominantly road cars. In percentage terms they will spend vastly more of their life on part throttle cruise than any car out there. Till you get to the race track though... bandit

Indeed.
I think its to do with getting the emissions down at low/idle also.
