Just thought I would mention what an absolutely cracking day we all had yesterday!
Stone chips were not an issue, probably due to the circuit being completely different (apart from the main straight) from previous years.

Thanks, I like it. won't make too many commets or GTW will be back in black.

What a day, gtr-gaz was the point of contact for the East Anglian Forum and did a sterling job for all, tireless response to e-mails and postings. What a guy!!!

The track is superp, 1 mile straight, ran out of gears at 175 mph (ish). Managed a massive spin at approx 90+ mph (I really wasn't looking) coming off the double apex corner that went on for ages onto the main runway straight. Managed this twice pushing the car. There was no damage as I spun onto the runway that is wide enough to park a refuling jet on.

There was a close call, i am told by a marshal, where a Saab was following too close and AS I spun he did not have a lot of room for error in avoiding me.

All in all a great day. 30 gallons of fuel, hours on the track FOR £60. Nice twisty bits to challenge you, long straight to stretch your legs. The beauty of the utima, nothing got past me on the straight if i didn't want it to, including a 500BHP+ modified twin turbo 911.

the day was very civilised with 99% of people behaving themselves, some drifting, allowed, no overtaking on corners. very well mannered. Some great cars there aswell as great people. Shed loads of people for myself, Gary and Phil asking for rides in the Ultima.

All in all a great day and all for charity.

Hi again Scuff, how many miles did you do on track? Cos 30 gallons sounds like a hell of a lot, I did 117 on track and used about 70 litres (15 gallons) and that included the trip there and back. At that rate my EFI might pay for itself, may be.

I filled both tanks to get there, I only had 1/4 of one tank on start. I filled up when there both tanks and then on arriving home I had 1/4 to 1/2 of one tank. I did 256 miles in total. I have to say that when driving hard the fuel consumption is large. It is an estimate of the consumed fuel. I did not measure this accurately.
Works out at 8.53 miles to the gallon. I normally get 15mpg on a cruise at 80-90 MPh. I would guess that the EFI makes a big difference

Not much carbon on the car, a very heavy right foot and proud of it. Smiles all round even if I did burn a hole in the Ozone layer.

Was a great day and worth every penny in smiles and sheer great fun.
