OK. Just come in from a raz over to Brands to get a noise test.

I have a slight issue with his test proceedure (took two seperate readings and averaged; instead of one reading at 0.5m from the pipe ends split between the pair)

Average was 104.5dB(A)

Brands have a 105 limit for Indy daytime.......phew!!!

Held the revs at 4500.

The evening was a BMW track session - gee, those boys can drive!

Exactly, what's the prob. Mine was 104.5 once, just got on track and that was Elvington, damn locals...

Just peeved that is was so close. 104.5dB seriously reduced the number of available events; don't it?

Not sure about that. When I was at Bedford doing the photo shoot our cars were tested. The guy doing the test said the limit is 87db and the meters are connected direct to the council offices.

When I was tested at Goodwood (and failed) the limit was 98db.

No I don't.

A mate of mine who knows a thing or two said I should have had my foot on the clutch to reduce gearbox noise.

^Good point. Our cars are more noisey than most not only due to the short style exhaust headers and small silencers but the mechanical noise of the motor/gearbox can also make a fair bit of a din.
