Oh Wayne,

Somehow I knew you could not resist old chum!

Actually it's GREY......did I say GRAY..gel-coat!

You see...I suffer from that serious ailment called 'Indecision Syndrome', and indeed...fence sitting is my second passtime!

.. So I figured that rather than having a colour...that means making a decision don't it! ....I would do something better and have no colour at all, but....the factory appeared not to be able to supply my first choice, ie see-through gel-coat!

Based on the above, it is clear that the initial choice I have arrived at has been carefully calculated using pure logical deduction rather than emotional choice.

As to the final colour....ahhhh now there is a thing! I think more procrastination is called for!spinnuts

So my respected friends, the floor is officially now open for suggestions!

.... However please can you add some short, carefully considered justification for each suggestion?

The winner gets free care in their old age!

As long as I behave myself for the rest of my natural life, I already have that covered so this prize has no practical use for me but as a fellow Ultima owner, a prize or reward is not necessary, just glad to assist wherever.

On the one hand, as you know, I myself am rather partial in just one area pertaining to colour choice and if my constant statements and ramblings have done nothing by way of opening your eyes, unfortunately, I have little choice but to regard you as a lost cause. You can lead a horse and all that.......
But then again, as right as a colour choice can be, if EVERYONE were to colour their cars in the correct fashion, it is likely to dull the specialness and make said hue 'common', and we don't want that do we, and so my choice has been based on this theory.

Although I said 'please don't tell me that it is going to be Grey', upon reflection, this could be quite smart ( I was going to say 'cool' but that is a younger persons word and as such does not appeal to the older generation ) ala Lambo and Paganis of late. I reckon dark Grey and because you already have your rims, strip them apart, powder coat the centres black and anodise the rims silver or maybe gold? Ideally I would sell the rims and buy a set of CF Dymags, the car in grey, black Magnesium centres and CF rims....Mmmmmm........spot on.

Gun-metal GRAY? Perhaps with an underlying candy orange or pink hue? yikes

Ohhh...sorry Hugh? party

Now then Wayne....You may think you won't need help in your old age, but someone has to bottle-feed you when your brain has worn out after all this high living, and roll you into that box when the time comes! That's unless you have come up with a cunning DIY gizmo of course! rofl

Comes to us all old fruit, and before you say it....yes! it's marginally possible that I might get there before youu-hoo, although I have plans!!!!!

Now to the final finish....well...eeerr!

maybe NOT!

Keith, if I had a brain do you HONESTLY think that I would on here as much as I am? silly

And as for the bottle feeding remark......Mrs.GT and I have often been tempted to get.......oh hang on a minute....wrong site

And as for the picture of the hippy wagon at the bottom of the page, the more that you skirt the colour issue, the harder it will be to decide. I am very much the type of person that likes to make a decision and stick to it, right or wrong ( I realise that I was fortunate in choosing the right colour and that is why I champion it as much as I do ).
This approach can bite you in the arse occasionally but I seem to have escaped relatively unscathed for most of my life and come to think of it have often been referred to as a 'lucky w@nker'; Maybe I should change my handle to luckyW?

That reminds me.....Actually Wayne I was thinking of resurrecting (oh that age thing again! _ Sorry!)a paint job I saw in the 70's (now! Now!...don't!)

It was a ford Escort Mk1 that had a special undercoat (GREY) applied that holds a static charge...then they blew red nylon fibres all over which stuck up on end, giving a hush-puppy look!

cant find any piccy though!

hey..cool!

Problem was the idea never really caught on cos eventually bald patches started to show....not that I am follicley challenged yet you must understand!

cool

If you were able to remember any of the '70's, you obviously didn't go to far in the '60's hippy

Hair is an outdated concept and far too much is made out of it in my opinion. Surely the Einstein theory is relevant here ( no, not that one, I wouldn't know where to begin ), the less inconsequential nonsense that you have to deal with from day to day leaves your brain less cluttered and therefor more suitable for dealing with important stuff, like choosing a colour for your Ultima yes

I like having very little hair thumbup

Wayne,

I am curious!

What precisely Do you do during the day - work-wise that is?

I kinda wondered if you had any time at all, considering the number of comprehensive and obviously heavily thought out contributions you make to this site every day!!!!!!

I would guess maybe a tad more that Crafty, anyway!!! Especially as he seems to be on the funny-stuff most of the time!!!!
