Fresh Air Supply Solutions for the pass. compartm.

As few of you may know I already installed a 65mm hose going from the front clip into a hose through the vertical part of the front (where the washer fluid and brake...is mounted) of the midsection into the pass. compartm. . It doesn´t seem to work properly...It seems, as if the incoming air is producing a slight overpressure and from then on there´s no more fresh air coming in....Another prob is, that the Front stay bracket damages the hose coming from the front clip.....I DON`T want to install the hellic. vents, as they are loud as hell, and in my opinion neither good looking nor really efficient....How did you solve the problem of risk of suffocation ??

You have installed the incoming air vent but the only outgoing air vent is under the bottom edge of the door where there is no door seal. If you have carpet on the top of the chassis sides then this gap may be even smaller.
Production cars often have vents in the rear screen posts that consist of a vent with a rubber flap on the other side so air can only pass one way. You could instal something similar in the rear bulkhead. A suitable position would be about head height, when seated, and just outboard of the roll bar. The only problem with this is that you would get noise coming through from the engine bay.

I have the helicopter vents which as you say are noisy if fully open and facing forward but just cracked open facing backwards work very well with minimal noise.

The helicopter vents don't look great and although they may work well, surely other options are available?? What about something along the lines of the Aston DB9R mirrors where the air is vented to the cockpit through the hollow mirror stalks.



One way vents in the bulkhead would also be required to create a through flow of air. Certainly would look a bit more 'trick' than helicopter vents!!

I like the helicopter vents. I find them simple and effective. The fact that they are adjustable independently in 360 degree's makes them usefull in any condition. They are noisy but again only in the full forward position and they're a snap to adjust. I like the looks as well. The combination of the vents, the fan, the heater and the a/c make my GTR comfortable in nearly all conditions. I wouldn't change a thing. Just my opinion.
