Right, lets take a guess at how P will fair by way of a quick ET and terminal speed shall we?

I say he will do 11.3 @ 126mph (the winner can have a box of chocolate fingers that I have been saving for just such an occasion)bigmouth

My 320BHP e36 track BMW ran 12.69 @ 112 earlier in the year so I don't think you will have any problem breaking into the 11'S. Gods speed and obviously no need to say it but 'be Lucky P',(makes me sound like a Gypo, that reminds me, I must remember to take my lucky heather with me later when I go to price that tarmac drive for the little old lady that I met whilst knocking on doors touting for work yesterday).

Left here at 6am, got to 'The Pod' (oh check me out!) at 8am. Dry, then. Just as things were gonna kick off it pished down and stayed that way 'til 2pm. Then it eased, and the the track was swept and blown with a giant hair drier!!

All in all, 8 runs. Best was run 7:

Reaction 0.121
60ft 1.972
330ft 5.032
1/8 ET 7.564
1/8 MPH 97.89
1000' ET 9.702
1/4 ET 11.629
1/4 MPH 120.06

Is this OK?

Well respectable P but with a little more practice I feel you could go a few tenths quicker. What kind of set up did you find optimum?

To be fair Wayne, it was all a bit trial and error. Met a couple of guys who showed me the ropes, in a old gold Opal Kadet with a dirty girt big Rover in it. He showed me a clean set of heals for the first couple of runs, whilst I was performing 15 second 1/4mile rev limiter burnouts!! (after the first two runs I wanted to go home ) But then I just calmed the starting throttle down and just squeezed the power on gently.

With helmet on I couldn't really hear the revs - so lucky that my rev counter just happens to be right in the line of forward vision, not off to one side!!! He-he!!

I did drop the tyre pressure from 18 to 15 and thats what the last few sub 12 runs were done on.

Rear shocks backed off to 1 click and ride height, 110/160.

All runs done with engine at 80deg C.

All on video......some time next week.

Brilliant! Only trouble is, with all this excitement I have inadvertently been tucking in to the chocolate fingers but by my reckoning Des was closest and seeing how he said because they were my fingers he would give it a miss, I don't feel to bad about it. All in all it would seem we have collectively had a good day, ULTIMA RULES!!!bounce

P , engine makes .389bhp 402lb/ft at 4300 rpm would make a bit more on a cool day maybe 10% , can-am only ways 970kg with me in it so i know there is a saving there but the times i ran were better than expected , i have also been told that DW rolling road reads a bit low but i don,t know if thats true . simon

P, do us a favour seeing as your speaking to Simon and tell him what is the ONLY colour that an Ultima should be painted!
