Billet Ali Dash
Discussion
Hi chaps,
Anyone know who made the billet ali dash that was on display at the open day on Sunday? It was on the floor next to a car and it looked fantastic. Didn't have time to take a picture unfortunately, but it looked really well thought out and well put together.
Just going outside to continue opening boxes! Will start putting the panels on tomorrow! It begins!

I have some excellent pics if you want them mailing
That dash is fantastic! In my humble yet accurate opinion thats just what the car needs.
I took my dashcover to get a new one made to suit my new dash shape, I also decided that a black dash would not reflect as much as tan. Then the guy asked if I wanted red stitching. That would have looked crap, black dash with red stitching and tan seats. Couldnt get my mind off the black with red stitching though.....especially with my red Sparco harnesses.. so I am taking the whole interior to him today and changing it. He's doing black leather sides on the seats, black alacontra inserts in the seats, and all with red stitching.
Anyone that wants a set of brand new tan leather covers for std ultima seats can have em for free.... pay postage from Hong Kong and they are yours.

Free to anyone except Wayne that is.

Damn! I have an idea for my second Ultima and those covers would have been perfect for it! Dig this; During the build of the GTW my good lady has had her patience worn thin and has been thinking of getting a pet. Now she would like a dog, something loyal and fuss worthy. I don't mind pets but find them a bit demanding so I have had a brainstorm, a CanAm for my little lady? It will be black and tan and will be known as 'Project Doberman', what do you think? I am going to run it by her later and if you never hear from me again, you can make your own assumptions.
Talking about the "standard norm"
I'm as yet undecided about what to do with the dash.
I looking at the "pimp my Ultima" at the open day and like some of his design changes, even if there are a few to many dials for me
Has anyone else modified there dash?
I was thinking about making a central column in GRP and getting it trimmed, but I don't have my seats yet so I'm not how wide I could make it.
The quest for sunglasses and cup holders continues...

Dr Pete,
Be carefull. Personal opinion and my style of driving means that for me, anything centre lower dash is a no-no. As std it makes a perfectly good mono-cock (eek!) but a divider makes two smaller, cramped twin cocks!!??
Perfect cup holder location would be between seats from bulkhead to rear of hand brake IMHO.
Lucky

If you fit a navigators foot rest and situate the battery behind it as I have done on the GTW, maybe you could fit a drinks dispenser in the vacated space?. Unfortunately I have now filled the space in my car with a couple of fire extinguishers but that is the price you pay for rushing in to these things without considering all possibilities I guess. I will just have to go thirsty, damn it!
"If you fit a navigator’s foot rest and situate the battery behind it as I have done"
I saw this in the back ground of a photo Clive sent me.
What battery did you fit, looks like a Redtop?
Where did you move your earth point to??
See you could have used the water to put the flames out and quench your thirst and top up your coolant system, multi purpose, you knows it

What's up Doc? The battery used is a 50A/h Odyssey about twice the size of the standard one (physically that is), I think the Ultima standard one is 25A/h (so it is twice the size A/h wise to)?. Earth points are next to the starter, one to the engine, one to the gearbox. There you go see, I can conduct a sensible answer!
