Embarking technique

Practicality issue here.
Being not particularly tall I find it amusing climbing into and out of the Canam. As we have no roof i suspect somewhat easier than getting into and out of GTR with little legs.
What's the best way of getting in and out of the car without damaging upholstery, or parts of the body?

Stand with your back to the car, Right hand beside filler cap, left hand holding the front roll bar or top of full screen for CanAm, swing left leg in and hook heel on chassis rail immediately in front of seat. You can now take your weight on the left leg and right hand, swing right leg in and straight down into footwell whilst at the same time bending the left leg. Bum arrives on seat and extend left leg into footwell.
As per Haynes manual getting out is the reverse of getting in with the exception that you will not be able to get your right hand up onto the body so will have to go with the ali panel of the side pod. Push up as far as possible with right hand and left heel on the rail, you can then lock yourself against the seat while you move your right hand up onto the body for the final push.
If you normally have the seat positioned forward for driving then part of your routine will be to always push the seat back before exit.

Has anyone experienced people getting in who end up with one leg sticking out and unable to move??!!
I got stuck trying to get out of Steve D’s car, I got out on all fours as a driver you get use to hopping in and out, but you try getting in or out the passenger side
I'm glad you owned up to that one, saves me the chore of having to embarasse you.

You have it all wrong, for those who are fit try this ....
Open both doors, if you are the driver start on the passenger side, start a short run up, dive head first through the passenger side, add a twist and pike and you will end up sitting in the drivers sit perfectly .....

PS I know you Ultima boys, please don't retort without try this technique first ....

I take it that's the GTR entry method, I believe the Can-Am method includes a half gainer as well to make the most of the extra headroom but you'd have to check that with Stig as he's had both
