New Red Top and a 6 pack

Just replaced my battery for a new red top 40, easy job but you have to lie on the front wheel and boy does your stomach muscles take a pounding,

I thought it was only me using a Red Top these days, just replaced mine 2 months ago and boy does it make a difference.

Mine came from Merlin Motorsports, it was new ( ie not on the shelf long ) and fully charged

I got mine from Merlin Motorsport, but Rally Design are quite a bit cheaper

How does it compare in spec to the factory supplied one ?

I replaced my red top with the new factory battery and it was significanly less powerfull and only just up to the job so I went back to a red top and have used the new one in my little BEC.

I've just checked the date stamp on my Red Top 60 and it's 10th Sept 1999. That's getting on for 7 years old and it seems to be as strong as ever. I am sure that connecting it to a trickle charger as soon as I get it home has had a lot to do with its longevity. The previous RT 40 (which wasn't attached to a trickle charger) was useless after a year. The RT 60 is quite a lump but with 51 amp/hrs capacity and 1400 amps cranking current, it makes light work of turning over a 350 Chevy even in the depths of winter.
