We are Japanese publisher.
We would like to get in touch with Ultima car owners for interview and photographing owners and Ultima cars.
Do you know if Ultima car owners club exist?
Or Do you have any contact with Ultima car owners?
I would like to speak to someone who can help us.
We are based in London.
And expecting Japanese crew arriving in London on 15th June.
They will be staying in U.K. until 22nd june.

I wonder if they want it for one of those endurance (torture) style shows where they get towed behind a car on a gravel road!
Did they say who they published for? Otherwise it's probably a scam...
If they want that kind of stuff, they should just talk to the Factory, I'm sure Ted wouldn't mind opening up a shop in Japan - though, as the car aint the best for drifting, not sure if they'd want it!

This indeed could be a scam!
It is possibel that whoever these Guys are they are out to find Ultima owners that give their details (name address etc) so that they can maybe much later, come and lift it for instant export!!!
Recomment checking out the domain name
and if either Private (ie you can't find out the owner on Nominet etc) or they are using a general one (such as a jap equivalent .aol), then its likely a scam! OK it could be genuine but please, be very careful!

I was just curious as to where they got my e-mail address from? Like Timsta, I was also a member of the old Ultima Owners Club. It must be from that.
The letter I received, is exactly as shown above. The only alteration I have made is to blank out the mobile number and remove his surname. No web site, no publisher or magazine details. Very odd.

Chances are whoever it is is reading through the Ultima forum and clicking on owners profiles.
How about someone e-mailing them back and asking them to introduce themselves on here in public?

We have published the book of " British Kit Car World
" back in 1998 by Bauhaus Ltd in Japan.
We have already interviewed Mr. Ted Marlow and took
some photographs at his work shop.
Recently I have called Ultima Sports and spoke to Mr.
Richard Marlow ( Ted is going to be on the holiday
from the end of last month till mid June ). Richard
does not think he can export Ultima cars to Japan. I
also know Japan does not allow Kit cars unless it is
fully built. Unfortunately in June, Ultima Sports Ltd
has less people who can help us.
We have Japanese Television company coming to U.K. to
film British kit cars in September.
This time we are preparing interview & DVD shooting
for September.
We are scheduling for the intervew & photographing
Ultima car owners at the moment.
If you would like to see the Japanese book which we
have published in 1998 I can show you some images.

This year we are expecting a Japanese film crew at the show. They last came over to the UK in 1998 to photograph cars and record interviews with kit car manufacturers (and magazine publishers), for a book. You may remember them. This time they are coming over with a Japanese TV film crew, to film British Kit Cars. The program will also be available on DVD. They are over here for approximately 10 days.
