ok so every on here is well aware of the ultimas incredble performance but when will it come to the attetion of the wider world and media?? im sure a big ultima could push the top of the top gear lap times.
i know that "its a kit car" but im sure the factory makes as may as a small company like konnegeg for example.
plus being the record holder for the o-100-0 thing should ive it some sort of credibility. Im fed up of having arguments with cretins who dont know anything about it and dont think its anything special

I like the fact that not many people know about the Ultima,it makes ownership feel a little more special.Personally,it does not interest me what others think they may or may not know about Ultimas,my car was built to my own specifications to suit me and was the main attraction of the project as far as I am concerned.I could have had virtualy any car that I had wanted but the idea of being able to tailor something to my exact requirements was a huge plus point in favour of the Ultima.

You should credit yourself with foresight, if you have to ask, then you don't understand!
Whilst building my Ultima one modification that I consider to be a must is a particular area under the dash on the passenger side that has a dedicated area especially for two spare pairs of pants not just for an unanitiated passenger, but you never know when you may indeed put yourself in a situation that render spare pants neccesary.
It's becoming more well known in car performance circles. Being in a couple of video games will increase that among the general public.
People don't need to be aware that it is the record holder for this or that, the look of the car tells the story. I'd think that the ultima would command the respect of nearly anyone that looks at it. Maybe only a few punks in their hondas or bikers with litre bikes would dare to be insolent.

I was at the TG studio in Cranleigh last Thursday as a member of the audience and was tempted to speak to JC about the possibility of putting my Ultima round the track but decided,rightly or wrongly,they are to mainstream to be interested in something like the Ultima.I am going to try approaching the monthly mags and if they show any interest,I may at least get some free track time and maybe some properly timed runs?We will see.
How can you say that, all be it a number of years back an Ultima was on top gear. It was reviewed by Tiff, before the new format TG. I think the clip is on PH TV somewhere. Also the GTR demo car was used at that live show (can't remember the name of it) so they do know all about it. I would think it was perhaps down to the Factory to push it.
'the new format TG'is most definitely that, and as such when ,as I said,I was there last week the general atmosphere of the show lead me to that conclusion.The factory can and will,no doubt,push in any direction they see fit to heighten awareness of the mark but my agender is a little different.Don't get me wrong,I think my Ultima and Ultimas as a whole are superb pieces of kit(thats why I have one)but it makes no difference to me how Ultima are percieved in the mainstream.If you want people to think you drive one of the fastest road cars on four wheels,buy and drive something that is percieved to be just that.If you don't give a stuff what people think but want to own and drive one of the fastest roadcars(financialy within reach of your average hard working PH),get an Ultima.

Aren't you being a trifle optimistic about the Ultima acheiving similar lap times to cars like the Koenigsegg? Sure, in a straight line its performance is nothing short of astounding (largely due to obscene bhp figures) but around a tight circuit with short straights much smaller cars will run rings around it due to the inadequacy of the chassis.Didn't an Elise once give an Ultima a run for its money a couple of years back?

Sure, in a straight line its performance is nothing short of astounding (largely due to obscene bhp figures) but around a tight circuit with short straights much smaller cars will run rings around it due to the inadequacy of the chassis.Didn't an Elise once give an Ultima a run for its money a couple of years back?

I have at times an unhealthy passion and desire for cars and speed. And yes, speed matters – a lot. I am now driving a Seat Leon Cupra R – one of the most fun, powerful and reliable cars I have ever had. It has never let me down so far (Well, except once in a sprint where I forgot to switch of the traction control). The most rewarding thing about the Cupra, is the look on the face of the guy in his brand new 50.000 eur Porsche Turbo, being left standing at the traffic light – by a Seat!
I find it really cool that the Ultima’s are not famous and well known. There is too much fantasy BHP’s out there, at least the Ultima walk’s the talk, which must be the only important thing for people with a serious and unhealthy passion for speed. If fame and brand is important – buy a Jaguar.

They said, in general super cars were uncool and if you had to explain what the car was, it uncool.

One and only reason these car's will never be mainstream *History* and it's a KitCar... it's fast it's nice looking it's cool!! but it lacks the racing history, most well know Super Car makes have plenty! hence people know about them, everyone want's a Ferrari or Porch... or lambo!

Guess I am avery lucky individual then as I have an Ultima in my garage and a Porch on the front of my house!

Ironic, given that the reason Ultima became a road car was because Ted developed his race car for that purpose!
Lee Noble thought Ted would never sell one - well, he got that one wrong for starters

I would be EXTREMELY surprised is the Koenigsegg beat the GTR on track. The Koenigsegg is far more of a straight line car than the Ultima ever will be. How many cars has 'the stig' crashed?
Does the Koenigsegg hold the production car lateral G record?
No - it does not. Ultima does.
Again, the Ultima was developed FROM a race car, not built as a road car then dumped on track.
