Wing it?

Hi chaps,

What is the consensus with regard to the fitment of the wing? I love the pure shape of the body without wing - but is the vehicle functionally and aesthetically incomplete without it?

Does anyone use the wing just for track and remove it for general motoring - some sort of body coloured plugs covering the wing support holes?

The abscence of the wing will not render the car useless and the addition will only make a difference at speed.A pal of mine built and ran his Ult without it and indeed sold it on to.If you like the look of the car without the wing,don't thrash it everywhere you go and fancy keeping your bank balance helthier to the tune of nearly 2K, then don't bother.Personally I like the look of the wing although I have been fortunate enough to accquire a genuine single plane Maclaren F1 wing,so I can also be sure it will have some effect.

You are correct,I have run out of wedge,but that is not the reason for not providing pictorial evidence by way of photographs.I am the proud owner of two digital cameras but I know nothing about operating them.The car will be made public soon enough and all will be laid bare,for better or for worse.Maybe I should have waited before emerging from the shadows,but five years have come and gone since begining this pilgrimage and I can stay silent no more.At the start,folklaw had it that somewhere far far away,there was a tunnel.No one could tell me where it was and indeed,I could not even find anyone that had been there personally.I thought I might get lucky(I often am you see)I began the long and seemingly impossible journey.I made endless phone calls,tied up deals,bartered,made two trips to the USA,had a near death motorbike crash,nearly split with my shining star of 20 years(my beloved wife that is,not my tin Sherrif badge, I have owned this for almost 36 years now!)lost one of my two businesses,robbed,lied and stolen and then,just when I least expected it,I heard a whisper,I was pointed in the general direction of what turned out to be the mouth of the tunnel.It has been a long haul but I can now actually see the light,it is blinding me!Is this the end of the tunnel?Probably not,but there is no way I am going back in there.Should there be a bridge on the horison,or a viaduct or flyover I can handle it. If this blurb makes you think 'this blokes a nutter' you are right,I am NOW.I was fine 5 years ago.
