I'm happy to say my car is now up and running with the Mass-Flo Efi. Initial impressions are it runs very well with minimal setup. The system is straight from a 89-94 Mustang 5.0 running a custom mass air meter. The wiring and general kit construction is probably the best I've seen, and I've seen a lot of kits. I can't say enough about Chris Richards at Mass-Flo. He repeatedly called back to see how i was progressing, and genuinely takes pride in what he sells. He helped me troubleshoot every step of the way, on a very difficult sick motor. Kudos to Chris.

My engine is a World Products 427 aluminum SBC. For anyone thinking of using World Products- don't. Other than having the wrong valve springs (valve springs were for a roller cam), which collapsed four of the hydraulic lifters. Mis- machining two exhaust valves, which caused them not to seat, and having a cam that was good for 8K RPM, in a motor with a 6K redline they've done great! Engine has also leaked oil from just about everywhere from day one. If only I knew then what I know now...

Happy the system is working for you.
This week-end, the Edelbrock 3500 comes off the CanAm, and we start installing the Mass Flo system. As posted in the past, we're working very close with Chris Richards, and will be documenting the results. The objective is to get better low speed engine performance, and possibly better fuel mileage, something that has been lacking with the 3500 system.
To this date, we've logged over 11,000 miles on the CanAm with the 3500 system, so we feel we have a good benchmark to start with.

Interesting. Not sure about his claim of having to have a laptop connected to other systems for automatic calibration. On mine, you set a target AFR and it corrects to that automaticly, sans Laptop. I think I would rather plug my laptop in and tinker rather than sending my flow meter back to him if I make changes.
A valid point about low vacuum and map based systems, though.

Chuffin hell, just seen the price..$2.5k "on special offer". That's alot, considering he's using standard OEM kit. What about if you want to customise it or program outputs for radiator fans etc?

What other systems can you get for $2500 besides the megasquirt? Throttle body, wiring harness, mass air meter, are all custom. The ecu is a mustang A9L.

You can get software from "tweeker" and basically customize the ecu to anything you want for $550.

You do indeed get quite a bit of stuff, i.e. lambda's, manifold, throttle body, injectors etc.
I think my entire Megasquirt conversion cost about £1000 - and that was only by avoiding open wallet surgery at Mr Earls and Mr Aeromotive, and by having my [late] father do the manifold conversion and varios other machine work for free.

I just got all my Earls stuff from the US, Summit Racing. Why we have to resort to this, but importing is so much cheaper. Come-on Simon how much?

Well, I'll start the ball rolling........although it's not EFI, I have just invested in Speedflow the sum of £700 for my fuel and oil lines and fittings. Spent about 45mins on the phone going through the system I'm doing and adding the bits I'd forgot/didn't think about, but she was nice and knowledgeable.........

I've been running my Canam (525 bhp, 373 SBC) on Mass Flo efi for about 3 weeks now. The weather has not been kind though for a lot of on-road testing. Although I was not unhappy about the Holley carb setup, I was interested in running efi.

The engine started first time and after initial base ignition timing setting, the system has behaved flawlessly.

The car is definitely happy at low revs/high gear through town (but it was never a real problem) I have some performance data on the old carb setup that was dyno tuned and when the weather improves, I will be repeating them with this setup.

I am entered down at Goodwood for a sprint event next month. Has anyone else entered?

If anyone is interested I can post some shots of the setup and fuel system with swirl pot.
