At last, after a few years of eye balling and drooling over ultimas my finances are finally in a state to let my build begin (well just)
I should be ordering the first load of parts at the end of this month with some luck!!
So i just thought id give you all plenty of notice for the onslaught of newbie questions!! Hopefully i can be of some help to everyone else on here to!

Just a quick couple of questions ive stumbled over already First off has anyone tried other engines in an ultima? like a nissan RB variant or a hyabusa turbo conversion?? Bearing in mind youd only have to make close to the same power when you bear in mind the mass of weight youd lose out of the back.
Andive noticed a lot of posts on which gbox will hold up best, has anyone considered the porsche box out of the 930?? It generally matches up well with v8 gt40's ive seen and there desgined over take over 650bhp??

I used to live near Hinckley were Ultima were and ad their prototype cars runby my house almost daily...(Good Cars) and they sounded better with the V8 in!!!

Many of what you ask has been tried so a quick search here will answer a few questions.

I used the 930 in my car and it worked well due to the modded diff and ratios I had...... but personnelly I wouldn't recomend it as the gearchange is notchy and the clutch is difficult to get working without it being exceptionally heavy.

Your spec sheet will mostly fall down to how much you have to spend.
