seat/handbrake position

i am fitting ultima supplied seats this weekend, but the handbrake lever appears to foul the driver seat. the factory drilled the floor holes so they should be perfect. the driver seat clearances are about 0.5" between seat and gear shift linkage, and about 1" between seats at the front end. the situation could be resolved if the 'handbrake off' position was above seat level. the gold coloured fixing bracket is already on the near-side of the chassis fixing lug. any experience with this? thanks.

the passenger seat needs to be over a bit more over towards the left door, and the drivers seat does need to be over away from the drivers door a bit because of the right hand gear lever (if you have a right hand lever!) It is a bit tight. you can try to make a bit of room by moving the lever a bit closer to the panel (ensure you can still get reverse) that helps. It could ultima just drilled the wrong holes!
